Denise Richards was born February 17, 1972 in Joliet, Illinois and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois. She attended Herrick Junior High School until she completed the eighth (8th) grade. Then she went to Tinley Park High School for her freshamn year, until she moved with her family to San Diego, California. She graduated in 1989 from El Camino High School in Oceanside, California. Denise then moved to Los Angeles and began modeling, something she began in high school. Denise quickly built up an internationl reputaion, modeling in New York and Tokyo. She has modeled for Teen Magazine and Sport Magazine, but it wasn't what she really wanted to do. She gave up her cover girl career for a shot at the silver screen. Denise got her showbiz debut on "Doogie Howser M.D." She did several other TV appearances and minor movie parts, before making her breakthrough in Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers in 1997. Her role as Carmen Ibanez, the strong female pilot, showcased her talents and landed her the part in Wild Things.
